Eight(8) New magistrates sworn in
On the 4th of October 2019,The Judicial Service Commission swore-in eight new magistrates, seven of them female, in a move that acting Chief Magistrate Munamato Mutevedzi said would ease the backlog of cases before the courts. JSC attended the 14th Conference of the IACA in Astana, Kazakhstan on 17-18 September 2019
The Judicial Service Commission of Zimbabwe attended an International Conference in Astana, Kazakhstan on 17-18 September 2019 sponsored by International Association for Court Administration (IACA) . The agenda featured a mix of plenary and concurrent breakout sessions on the 17th September 2019 . On the 18th September 2019 , IACA conferees will meet jointly with conferees of the International Judges Association. JSC, NBS ink housing deal for Magistrates.
Housing problems will soon be a thing of the past for Magistrates and Judges after the Judicial Service Commission signed a memorundum of understanding with the National Building Society to provide mortgages for judicial officers. All Magistrates, in terms of the deal that was sealed, are now legible for mortgages and they have option to buy complete houses or to get funding to develop their own stands
